Robyn Parker's time to shine

The NSW Labor Opposition has welcomed the news that Sydney will host the International Union for Conservation of Nature's World Parks Congress in 2014.

"I am delighted that Sydney has been selected to host this significant international event," Shadow Minister for Environment Luke Foley said today.

"On the off chance that she is still in the portfolio in 2014, this will be Robyn Parker's chance to go global.

"The International Union for Conservation of Nature is a discerning group of experts on the lookout for innovative best practice.

"This will be a forum for the O’Farrell Government to take its novel conservation methods to a global audience.

"Shooters rampaging through our national parks. The return of duck hunting. Logging that protects koalas.

"The world's conservationists will be able to see it all when they come to Sydney.

"The highlight of the conference is sure to be an opportunity to go bushwalking with Robert Brown and Robert Borsak.

"Delegates – if they survive that experience - will be forced to admit that our State's national parks truly are unique."
