NSW Opposition Leader Visits St Marys to Highlight Job Creation Priorities in Western Sydney

NSW Opposition Leader Luke Foley today visited St Marys Shopping Village to talk to local businesses and residents about Labor’s priority of supporting thousands of new jobs in Sydney’s western suburbs.

Mr Foley was joined at St Marys Shopping Village by Labor Candidate for Londonderry Prue Car.

“A key priority for Labor is supporting the creation of thousands of more jobs in the suburbs right across Western Sydney,” Mr Foley said.

“We need to be growing smart jobs and creating opportunities across the suburbs of Sydney’s west.

“By creating jobs closer to home we can alleviate congestion on our roads.

“I want the residents in suburbs like St Marys to know that they have not been forgotten, and that changing the dynamic that drives our city and forces them to make the long commute to the east every day will be a priority for Labor."

Labor Candidate for Londonderry Prue Car said she was very pleased to be able to bring Labor Leader Luke Foley to St Marys to talk to local businesses and residents about a Labor Government’s priorities for the region.

“This is a vibrant region of Sydney and we deserve a government that is focused on improving the work-life balance of our residents.

“It’s been very pleasing to hear Luke, on his first day as Labor Leader, indicate that supporting job creation in Western Sydney will be a top priority for a Labor Government.

“Supporting the creation of thousands of more local jobs in Western Sydney is the right approach to making a lasting dent in Sydney’s congestion challenge.

“Cutting the commute time that sees parents away from their families well into the late hours of the night by bringing jobs closer to where people live is the common sense way to manage our city.”
