NSW Opposition Leader, Luke Foley, today announced Liverpool City councillor, Charishma Kaliyanda, as Labor’s candidate for the electorate of Holsworthy for the 2019 state election.

Mr Foley said Ms Charishma Kaliyanda, an Occupational Therapist who lives in Liverpool, will be a terrific candidate.

Ms Kaliyanda has lived and worked in the region nearly all her life and has been an active member of the community since she was a teenager.

She was elected to the local council in 2016.

Mr Foley said most importantly Ms Kaliyanda had shown a great energy to fight for her community.

In the lead up to the election in two years’ time Ms Kaliyanda will be out in the community listening to their concerns.

She will also be highlighting the Berejiklian Government’s neglect of the electorate and fighting their wrong policies; for example neglect of local infrastructure by the State Government such as the maintenance backlog and overcrowding of local schools.
