NSW Labor to provide $100 million for a paediatric surgical centre at Campbelltown Hospital - without privatising the electricity network

A Foley Labor Government will provide $100 million for a new paediatric surgical centre at Campbelltown Hospital – without privatising our electricity network.

The Paediatric Surgical Centre will include:

  • Enhanced paediatric outpatient services;
  • Increase paediatric anaesthesia; and
  • Enlarged theatre space.

The funding for the Centre will be reserved in Labor’s $3 billion Education and Health Fund – part of Labor’s fully-funded $10.055 billion A Better Way infrastructure package that is not reliant on privatisation of the electricity network.

Labor’s plan to establish a paediatric surgical centre at Campbelltown Hospital, by expanding the existing paediatric surgery, will respond to the South Western Local Health District (SWLHD) being the fastest growing health district in metropolitan Sydney.

It will complement Westmead and Sydney Children’s hospitals and will one day become Sydney’s third paediatric hospital.
