NO FUNDING FOR WESTERN SYDNEY AIRPORT RAIL PREMIER ASKED - WHERE IS THE MONEY?

-->

The NSW Opposition is demanding answers from the Premier about funding for the Western Sydney Airport rail line – after her Federal colleagues failed to allocate a single dollar to it in their Budget.

Opposition Leader Luke Foley asked in Parliament this afternoon if Premier Berejiklian has now given up on having a rail line on the day the airport opens for business.

Or was she expecting passengers and international visitors to get to central Sydney by other means?

Mr. Foley said the Premier’s record on fighting for NSW on major projects was abysmal – she’d never been known to criticize the Turnbull Government or her Federal colleagues.

Even when that would clearly be of benefit to every family in NSW.

Quotes attributable to Opposition Leader Luke Foley

“Ms Berejiklian needs to tell us when she’ll fund the rail link to the Western Sydney Airport. It is the key to the whole project.

“Major world cities have a rail link from its airport to the CBD.  Does the NSW Premier think Sydney can become the subject of criticism worldwide for not having one, just because she’s afraid to even ask her Federal colleagues to allocate a single dollar to it?

“This Premier needs to get on side quickly – and act on behalf of NSW. That’s what the job entails.”
