LUKE FOLEY POSES QUESTIONS FOR THE PREMIER ON PARRAMATTA LIGHT RAIL

-->

The Premier and her Transport Minister Andrew Constance need to address the following questions on Parramatta Light Rail.

Today the Liberal Government will announce its ‘preferred’ route, but true to its modus operandi on infrastructure, there is little to no detail about its final route, the total cost and when it will be finished.

It’s now been three years since the Government said it was going to ‘accelerate’ work on the light rail (June 2014). So far it has committed only $1 billion towards a project that leaked documents show will cost more than $3 billion. The Government has still not given a final cost.

It will be almost six years before part of the light rail will be up and running. There is still no detail for when the entire project, including transport to Olympic Park, will be operational.

The community is still awaiting a business case which was due to be released in May.

The Government has changed the route on multiple occasions.

The Labor Opposition will hold a media conference at Sydney Olympic Park this morning at a time to be advised.
