Labor to invest in Upper Hunter regional roads - without the need to privatise the electricity network

A Foley Labor Government will invest in a suite of local roads upgrades for the Upper Hunter region – delivering much needed improvements to local roads.

Labor has reserved $23.1 million for local road upgrades as part of its Upper Hunter Roads Rescue Package – and we will deliver this without the need to privatise the electricity network.

Labor’s investment will see upgrades and improvements to 19 roads, many of which are in very poor condition.

Labor Leader Luke Foley was joined in Singleton with Country Labor Candidate for Upper Hunter Martin Rush to make the announcement.

Quotes attributable to Labor Leader Luke Foley:
“Labor will invest in the roads of the Upper Hunter region without privatising our electricity network.

“Many of these roads and bridges are in urgent need of upgrade and repair – and Labor will ensure that they receive the vital investment they need.

“The Liberals and Nationals are blackmailing communities across the state with extravagant promises – telling people they will only have investment in infrastructure if they agree to privatise the electricity network.

“The Liberals and Nationals stand in front of schools, hospitals and roads and say they won’t upgrade them unless the community backs their risky plan to privatise our electricity network.

“Labor will not blackmail families across the state. We will invest in the roads, hospitals and schools of the future without privatising the electricity network.”

Quotes attributable to Country Labor Candidate for Upper Hunter Martin Rush:
