NSW Labor Leader Luke Foley says he welcomes the Berejiklian Government’s decision to adopt Labor’s policy of using the full proceeds of the Snowy Hydro sale to fund projects in regional NSW.

Mr Foley announced in May 2017 that a Foley-Labor Government would ensure that one hundred percent of the funds raised would be used in regional NSW on education, health and infrastructure such as roads.

It is now up to Ms Berejiklian to spell out a clear and transparent timetable on how, when and where this $4.15 billion will be spent.

The Berejiklian Government is hell-bent on fast-tracking the unnecessary knock down and rebuild of Sydney stadiums while people in the regions of NSW, such as the Tweed, have to wait years for improvements in health infrastructure.

Rural and regional areas have continually missed out on funding by the Berejiklian Government while it splurges on the wrong priorities in Sydney like the CBD and South East Light Rail, Northern Beaches tunnel and $2.5 billion on stadiums.

Quotes attributable to NSW Opposition Leader Luke Foley

“I’m glad the Berejiklian Government has decided to adopt Labor’s policy to use the Snowy Hydro funds for regional NSW, after they neglected them for over 6 years.

“The Premier now has to detail how and where these Snowy proceeds will be spent.

“After splurging billions on unnecessary Sydney stadium rebuilds and pet light rail projects, regional NSW will welcome some much needed funding on schools, hospitals and infrastructure.”
